Roshan Kurichiyanil (Rosh of Lilorosh) is an animator, illustrator and comic artist with over a decade in the comic book industry, working as an illustrator and colorist for publishers including Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics and Dynamite Entertainment. He is also an award-winning children’s book illustrator.

For this curation, Rosh goes beyond simply picking good drawing tools. Each is tested specifically on the paper used in Lilorosh sketchbooks, considering line quality and texture, how the tool feels and reacts on the paper, ink flow, archival qualities and how well the ink holds up when washed over with water. Just as importantly, the tools have to fit the budget while still being capable of professional work. The result is a selection based on actual use, not just specifications or reputation.
